This is spot on, but I also want to say that Marxist feminists don’t prefer the term “sex work”, which was invented by a bourgeois liberal feminist in the 60’s who wanted to try out prostitution as a lifestyle choice. We prefer the term sex trade, sex industry, and people trapped / forced / trafficked into the sex trade, to refer to the 99% of mostly women who are trapped there and have no physical or economic means to escape. The term “sex work” makes it seem as though the 1% of independently wealthy people who have the financial ability to enter and exit the sex trade, represent the other 99%, and turns the coercion of the rape industry into a “free choice” , and “necessary labor”.
