    I remember once I read an analogy that I thought it was kinda cool.

    Western approach to this geopolitical conflict is like chess: Even though it’s an strategy game, you only win when your enemy is eliminated. When the game is over, it’s clear, because the king will no longer be present in the board. China’s approach is more like Go (WeiQi): The goal is not to completely destroy the enemy, but to encircle them in a way they can no longer play. By the time China will, it will not be immediatelly apparent and when the west realizes it, they will have already lost.

    Every time I read something about China building it’s own tech despite the sanctions (much to the surprise of the west) or influencing a bit more american enterprises I cant help but think about this analogy. China doesnt need to obliterate the west, it will wither away once it’s ability to wage war is taken away
