Sound science will touch every aspect of what the Biden Administration does–from new policy, to addressing social inequality, to the implications of new technologies. As Deputy Director for Science and Society, inclusive and trustworthy science will have a place in government.

oh neat, they’re trying to package a vague form of technocracy to us. yey, liberal ‘science’ will lead us to the future! yey, we’re going to pick leaders not because people want them, but because they’re qualified in a particular field. ugh.
The reason Reagan introduced neoliberalism in the 1980s was partly because academic studies at the time said that high pay dispersion led to more motivated workforces, increasing production. Of course, there were other academic studies that said it cause a ton of negative externalities like internal sabotage, mental health issues, led to higher crime, etc.
But they chose the studies that fit their ideology. I would expect nothing less from the Biden administration.
I’d argue he introduced neoliberalism because it was good for the ruling class and the studies were just for manufacturing consent.
Neoliberalism is a global capitalist phenomenon probably caused by the collapse in the rate of profit in the 1970s.
