I personally believe this is just a pretext to put pressure on the neolib US puppet government of Moldova so they dont join NATO or the EU. While the moldovan government is hostile to prorussians in transnistria and opposes russian being a coofficial language, it still recognizes it as a minority language. The russophobia in Moldova is nowhere like in Ukraine or the Baltic States, so i think calling it oppression is exaggerated. Im not an expert though.
