If a communist party gets democratically elected in a liberal democracy it would already be impossible to establish socialism with all the existing systems of the Bourgeois state against it. In addition it most likely will have to enter into a coalition wich would inevitably lead to revisionism. You could of course argue that a non revisionist party cant get elected because if there is such extensive support of the workers there would be a revolution. But just say it did. It could ether refuse to form a government, making itself unpopular by massively destabilise the country and appearing like they are backing away from taking actual responsibility, or form a coalition and turn revisionist with the extra danger of experiencing the same fate as Allende. Which brings me to the point if communists should take part in election at all. We can not hope to win because it can not do us any good. On the other side it shows the support in elections and communists get to yell at socialdems and fascists in parliament. What is your opinion on the topic?
Lenin’s got you covered: https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1920/lwc/ch07.htm
The TL;DR is that communists must participate within and without the current political framework. Because revolution won’t happen without popular support and the fact of the matter is that people will not see us as legitimate if we forgo liberal democracy completely.
