I know this sounds like an very weird thing to ask, but i really want to know if anyone else here also have an thing for catchy musics made by those states lol. I am also considering that you are also ignoring the lyrics and are hearing the music just for the sonorous valour (because thats what i do). Im my humble opinion, i think that catchy musics and cool clothes designs are the only good thing that fascists and monarchists have ever given to the world. Oh and just to stay clear, i mainly hear communist and anti imperialist musics most of the time, but it gets a little tiring to hear the same based music 10 times every day lol. And when i hear those fascist/monarchist musics, its usually one of those drip remixes varsions lol. Fuck nazi/neonazi musics tho, they are the only thing i dont hear. And just to extra-clarify, i am not supporting any of those fascist/monarchist states, i only like the musics and thats it.

I think Baroque, Classical and Romantic music were composed mostly by brilliant people unfortunately living under nobility and Imperial regimes, but refusing to admire these masterpieces only because how they were made is akin to people banning Tchaikovsky just because he was Russian.

Though be careful with Wagner and people like him, I’m not well versed in that period and he was mostly sure a white supremacist based on his influences.

Regarding Wagner, there are definitely weird racial undertones in Parsifal, and the story of the ring cycle seems suspect as well though I haven’t seen it. And in my personal opinion he is highly overrated as an operatic composer, though the instrumental parts of his music are usually very beautiful. For example the grail transformation music from Parsifal is exquisite, and doesn’t in and of itself convey his racist ideas and you don’t need to be afraid to listen to it or something. He was definitely a white supremacist and antisemite but instrumental music itself doesn’t really convey much semantic meaning. Also composers of orchestral and operatic music are by necessity part of the establishment to some degree, so most of them held bad views as far as I know. They are also usually specialists in music and either ill-informed or crackpots avout other things.

I think that some fascist/monarchist songs are catchy because they are mostly used as propaganda, so they are made to be good to listen. Some musics like “Mi General Augusto Pinochet” “Giovinezza” “Battotai” and lots of others musics where made as propaganda of the goverment.

And about the Baroque/Classical/Romantic stile of some of the musics are probably because fascists/monarchists are aways conservatives, and most especifically cultural and social conservatives, so they generally use those most older types of musics as an way to atract other conservatives.
