So what we expected finally happened.
Reddit quarantined (and might soon ban) the most active communist subreddit, and one of the very few non-western-supremacist ones left.
We’ve gotten dozens of new applications, and are approving them as quickly as we can.
Here are a few Lemmy mobile apps for Android and iOS, if you prefer using those over the web app.
If you have any questions, or if there’s anything we can help with, new ideas or communities, or anything that can make the transition away from stormfront easier, let us on the mod team know.
Reddit, Silicon valley, surveillance capitalism, bourgeois media, down with them!
In my experience, Lemmy works well enough in a mobile browser that the need for an app has become somewhat redundant. Not to say the apps aren’t nice or useful, but compared to garbage like Facebook and Reddit, it’s amazing what developers can do on a shoestring budget when the advertising and surveillance mandates which lead to shit like the Reddit Redesign are thrown out the window.
Reddit used to be alright on mobile but they broke it to force people onto the advertising plasterer shit.
