Personally, I would invest in a study center and try to hire communist party members from other countries to give lectures on practical examples of what they have done. I consider education to be the most important single thing a society can focus on and would pour the most of the budget by far into it.

I would like to add that it’s also not entirely fair to regard China’s stance on queer rights as something monolithic across all of the country - I’d bet I would be able to live comfortably in Shanghai or Chongqing as a trans woman if I just don’t step too much into the countryside. I don’t think there’s an easy answer here tbh, like yes they’re taking advantage of a healthcare system without providing a lot in return for China, but at the same time it’s still good that people are getting treated. Also, I feel that this helps the westerners see the Chinese system’s achievements firsthand, which creates a more favorable picture of socialism in the long run, so it’s worth it imo. That being said, we don’t know the numbers, so no easy definitive answer.
As for disillusionment - I grew up in modern Ukraine. As that quote goes - “Capitalism managed to do one thing communism never did - make communism look good” or something like that. Anarchism and social democracy was not providing the answers I was looking for. So it’s not fancy words or faith but the reality that I faced and am still facing.
My cringe take was that every ethnicity should get their own state cause then you get states fracturing and fracturing until you eventually reach city-states level and start fracturing more and after that point they slowly cease to be.
