Reading the responses there is sickening. No humanity. Everyone is making fun of them, saying its deserved, saying its efficient or smart, saying they’re being “treated like royalty”, calling immigrants “boat people”, calling them rapists, suggesting to sink it.
I don’t understand how people are so evil. The people doing this are evil, but they’re profiting and maintaining power because of these actions; the people going out of their way to voice support are getting nothing out of it except perverse joy. Absolutely disgusting.
I think this is one of the biggest hurdles for any revolution in the west. There are so many people that have been trained to think that empathy is a weakness and cruelty is a strength. There’s so many people who only see the world through empty, transactional interactions. I don’t know if you can teach empathy to an adult.
B-b-b-b-b-but CHINA! They Bad! And Russia! They’re so bad…why…they would build a giant floating cage to imprison people who just want a better life! Uhh…Whataboutism!

It’s like that over here in Australia too. The amount of people complaining about “Wegers” in camps while our own country has literal concentration camps for refugees is just astounding. The sheer lack of self awareness is uncanny.
The rest of the world sees it though, and that’s why the west finds itself increasingly isolated now.
