The thing is Sinophobia didn’t come alone. It got imported with all forms right-wing bigotry such as racism, misogyny(default), Transphobia, homophobia, Islamophobia (also default), zionism, hatred for the poor, outright fascism etc. Every mainstream sub I get recommended is trying make trans and colored people look like ‘radical woke nuisance’. Reddit accepts this because that’s what its capital owners want.

I’ve meant the societal default, even among people who brand themselves as “progressive”, it’s literally

        Thing: ☺️

        Thing, China: 😡

It’s strange, it feels almost dogmatic because I’m the opposite way of thinking, constantly. E.g “thing: >:( / Thing, China: :D” but it’s genuinely hard to not prove it as an orthodoxy when the opposite side is building open-air migrant camps.

Interestingly, the liberal attitude on that one is roughly:

            Concentration camps: ☺️

            Concentration camps, China: 😡

Doubly revealing because the chinese concentration camps only exist in their minds.

Oh yeah. The “But at what cost” trope.
