Very pretty but deserts are important ecosystems, so if this was a natural desert that can spell disaster for flora and fauna in those areas. More info required

From reading wikipedia, it seems that desertification did happen in the 20th century and this just seems to be a reversal.

Agreed, but this seems to have been a result of desertification. But natural deserts are important, it’s important we stop desertification and reverse it, but not go on a crusade against all deserts.

To be pedantic, I don’t generally like the ‘natural’ framing. Everything that exists is natural including humans and the things they convert. You care about some deserts not because they are “natural” but because you wish to preserve the lives such ecosystems happen to support.

Surely natural in this context means “without large scale human interference?”

You are correct in the caring of deserts being important because of the ecosystems they support, but I can’t exactly think of a better way to frame such deserts as “natural” deserts.

Yeah I’m aware of the context, which was why I said I was being pedantic. I’m just personally interested in technicalities due to vague wording and rulings in card games and RPGs which happened to influence much of my life.
