They call it the Chinese Communist Party, which makes no sense because its official name is the CPC (Communist Party of China). I feel like they’re showing their disregard for the official title, but it could also be genuine ignorance.
It also makes no sense because the party is not representative of all Chinese people in the world, only in the region known as China or the PRC. Diaspora for example would be represented by their respective country’s own communist party and not by the CPC which only represents the citizens of the PRC.
Well put.
I think it’s intentional disregard.
At least it helps us separate who is and isn’t based.
Eh, it depends. If you’re in Canada or another country that starts with the letter C for example, you may want to differentiate for the sake of ease.
A lot of time people don’t know better since CCP is what most Western media uses. You can quickly tell by the bias when you start reading though. :)
Same
I was so happy to read this & shared it all over. Frustratingly, many AnComs are simply responding with “fuck statists” that’s literally the extent of their argument, rather than acknowledging that Marx saw capitalism as a necessary step toward building communism, rather than acknowledging Lenin was much more a pragmatist & created the NEP, rather than acknowledge that this move by the CPC concretizes the evolution of “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” they reject it out of hand. This is the strength of Maosim (and I don’t consider myself one) & the strength of PRC under Xi - it’s CLEARLY theory AND praxis. We should be celebrating this as a step toward AES.
