This really highlights the amount of preparatory work and organization that’s involved in a successful uprising. I think a lot of that is directly relevant to the current US protests. People need to build local networks that operate offline, they need to create plans on how to work together, and so on. The protests are also in dire need of some central leadership to coordinate them for maximum effectiveness.
