It’s hard to tell because how ubiquitous big tech make them but the jump in costs from hosting images to hosting videos is pretty insane.
It definitely would be nice if Lemmy supported small clips. I guess the main problem is that it would eat up a lot of media storage. Currently, image size that can be posted is under a meg, and even a small vid can be 10-20 megs in size.
Yeah naw I understand the issues with storage and what not.
