Every empire declines as a result of running out places to expand. Given progress so far with BRICS I think a few more centuries at most

I’d say that the US, as the most warlike and bloodthirsty empire in all of history (the former recognized by its former POTUS Jimmy Carter) has created a system where it can “expand” (or expend) itself multiple times, on one place or another.

Of course, I’m describing the US’ “forever war” system- a kind of barbarism that frankly, I don’t think even the European imperialists, or even the Nazis and imperial Japanese, would likely have envisioned.

I agree with all the comments here, though. The ecosystem will not survive much more of this barbarism, and not even a “virgin earth” all to itself could ever be enough for the US. And the other contradictions of the US empire will bring it down sooner than later (and they might very well try to bring the entire world, the entire species down with them).

The US won’t last centuries. Small, neutered, cancerous relics (balkanized partitions/claimants of its legacy) of it may last that long, perhaps, but even then I’d be skeptical of their ability to peacefully coexist with the rest of the world (in a manner akin to, say, ISIS/daesh).

Centuries is super optimistic at most. There is no way that the United States itself is going to survive that long, let alone their empire.

I predict that the USA has up to 30 years left, the empire maybe up to 15-20.

This is already happening. The US would need another populated planet to continue as is.
