Gigantic space structures like O’Neil cylinders, toruses, birch planets, and artificial human habitats fascinate me. It’d be interesting to live on one in a socialist future.
Interestingly, they seem to be almost exclusive to western space expansion concepts. The documents I’ve seen on Soviet plans for space colonisation seemed to rely on stellar body bases, with stations and ships serving in their original roles of transportation and communication
