lots of organ meats can be tough, so there’s probably some way to prepare it so that it tastes good but it’s not what you’d think at first.

You’re certainly right, the ones the Serbs are cooking up sound well and tender. The “Rocky Mountain Oysters” I had were deep fried, as is Amerikan tradition, and that almost certainly impacted my enjoyment of em.

Tangent: presenting this as “disturbing” is just food colonizer bullshit, it’s only as disturbing as all meat eating could arguably be seen as. People eat food! I am sure that I am looked down on by yuppies and suburbanites for having had to resort to frog legs, squirrel and opossum in my youth, and I’m a white Amerikan. Imo it all comes from the same animal – steak and testes alike – so nut up or shut up 😅

i wouldn’t mind giving them a try. I remember having some trouble with intestine due to the texture but I think I could get used to it if I had the chance to experiment with cooking it myself.

I think it’s better to use all the parts of the animal. probably skip eating the brain because of prions, but besides that it’s more respectful of their sacrifice to use as much of it as you can.

Amerikans who make eating meat their entire personality be like:

I love hot dogs, bacon and spam. Gristle and fat make it all the better! Mystery meat just hits the spot!

Liver? Heart? Tongue? Testicles? 🤢 Are you some kind of savage?
