I don’t know much about birds, but there are magpies here that like to explore my backyard often and I find them really beautiful and majestic. I guess they are my favourite right now.

Mine is the black capped chickadee (Poecile atricapillus). I like them because they are very cute and fluffy.

    Redwinged Blackbird

Move in groups. Kick ass coloration, inky black everywhere except a patch on the “shoulder” of their wings thats something like red/yellow.

Shoebill storks are awesome. I like how big they are and the awesome sounds they make. I enjoy their mysterious and sometimes ominous appearance and behaviors. Sometimes they seem really friendly and silly too!

I had respect for them until I learned that they were going extinct pretty much solely because they destroy the eggs of their own kind.

The Eurasian nuthatch is my favorite because it often walks down tree trunks, upside down while facing the ground.

And I have to give an honorable mention to Bulwer’s pheasants for obvious reasons.

Yes, efficient engineering marvels that can be constructed literally anywhere. They also have a built-in shit guidance system so it lands directly on your head or food.

    Lately, a tufted titmouse.

They’ve got such cute little mohawks.

Never interacted with them personally but they are very smart and can be trained well. I have heard they can be loving pets and I imagine they are soft. In this aspect they are probably not better than parrots or corvids but they lay very yummy eggs and they do look quite funny, especially when they chill in trees. Additionally they can take care of pests and make compost. Just funny little crratures and helpful for humans
