I’m almost certain this has been linked here before but i’m posting this again for reference since i found myself needing quick access to a compilation of sources like this, and it can get tiresome having to do the same research over and over again when debunking anti-communist talking points. Hopefully others find it useful as well, and if you haven’t gone through this doc before give it a read, you may learn something new.
Thank you comrade! I will be downloading this and keeping it as a reference!
As davel said, Even if reports like these are amazing, some of the sources they point to are busted up, or videos that have been taken down.
Does anyone know of a good archival site for YouTube videos? Or are places like Odyssee backing them up? Or another project?
Our sources keep getting ripped off the internet and if archive websites keep getting taken down we need a separate place to keep our information up forever.
archive.org can also archive youtube videos, just a fyi.Oooohhh
Actually, I was wrong. It doesn’t. I thought it did since I had success with watching some videos through it. But when I try myself it doesn’t work, and when I search about it many others have the same problem. You should download it with something like yt-dlp or archive it somewhere else.
Shoot, thanks for doublechecking!
Probably still a good idea to back them up somewhere else too,
but archive.org is also useful.
I’m shocked, shocked that many of the YouTube video links are broken now.
Damn it, what can we do to back these up? Is odysee a good choice?
Okay, I’m legitimately shocked to learn that archive.org has archives of not just deleted YouTube pages but also (at least some) deleted videos. For example, here is a deleted Hakim video. And if the video were unavailable, archive.org might provide enough info to hunt the video down. For instance, someone has re-uploaded Hakim’s video.
Why did he delete this video? He also deleted his video on the DPRK. That had been very useful for education.
Though he might have, I wouldn’t assume that Hakim was the one who deleted them.
I found YouTube links in your comment. Here are links to the same videos on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
