I get why folks say “the left needs to open their arms to converts,” but kind of unmoored behavior is why people need to be cautious.

People can have unexamined views and maybe have a big shift once in their life. But once you have a foundation, and have learned some empathy, you shouldn’t find yourself swinging wildly in your beliefs… maybe just in your approach. But there’s people out there treating life and other people’s material condition like a boardgame on a made up board and picking up movements because they like the aesthetics. And I’m so annoyed when people suggest I always have to take it seriously.

I’m probably preaching to the choir here. But I find this kind of flippant behavior towards real struggle to be the absolute worst. You’re not picking microgenres off of spotify, this shit affects people.

Sorry to seriouspost under a dunkpost, but gd, the screenshots are my pet peeve.

When your understanding of politics is based on “Which ideology makes me look the coolest and has the best vibes?” instead of “Which ideology makes the most material sense?”, this is what happens.

    debilatory democracy

    What?

I know of the recent efforts from one of the comrades here to democratise depilatory technology but, uhhh, what in the fuck word is “debilatory”??

Are we trying to say deliberative democracy? What the fuck kind of vapid liberal nonsense is deliberative democracy anyway?

I think we should have a democracy where people think about what they vote on and there should be discussions about things

    All of this is cursed.

I’m a neoliberal Marxist who is opposed to reactionaries and I’m a neoconservative, socialist, neoliberal Keynesian.” This gives me whiplash.

No, it’s a democracy where people must suffer debilitating injuries in order to vote. Ever complained about something costing an arm and a leg? Well you’ll see how good you’ve got it after you vote.

“It begins in the only one that is not pointed with an arrow (Christianity)

and ends in the only one that does not point an arrow (palace economy)”

Basically started out with a 2000 year old religion, and ended with a 3000 year old economic system…? What the hell does palace economy even mean in the modern world…?

I thought it was anti Trotskyism when I made the post because I used the polcompballwiki to try and work out what all the ideologies were before giving up and I was going by their tiny pixel art images of everything smh
