As for what Stalin would do, German POW’s certainly weren’t sent to death camps or anything, it’s just that the other side prefered to exterminate POW’s instead of exchanging them. German POW’s in USSR were used for rebuilding post-war and then a lot of them were sent home after a prison sentence.

Wait and see if Ukraine has the balls to shell Russian territory and see if it DOESNT justify a FULL mobilization. Those POWs will be dead eventually.

It’s not so much about the exchange itself. It’s about WHO was exchanged. The nazis are not much of a problem here really. If military exchanged nazis to get back many POWs from the military, including high value personnel like multiple pilots that would’ve been fine.
But instead they “bought” the Ukrainian opposition politician and buisness man for like 20-30 Azov heads. Fuck this. They literally sold a bunch of nazis to buy themselves one ultra-rare nazi.
The Azovites were exchanged for Russian POWs that Ukraine was threatening to execute iirc (I can’t find the source anymore) and the Azovites will spend the duration of the conflict in Saudi Arabia
