Yyyyeap. Now this ruffled a lot more feathers than mobilization did. It’s not that exchanging POW’s is bad, especially considering what Ukrainians do to them, but for, fuck’s sake, why exchange them for Azov specifically? Although, it’s not like nazis aren’t all over Ukrainian military…
As for what Stalin would do, German POW’s certainly weren’t sent to death camps or anything, it’s just that the other side prefered to exterminate POW’s instead of exchanging them. German POW’s in USSR were used for rebuilding post-war and then a lot of them were sent home after a prison sentence.
