walking out of my apartment to get something to eat and notice this. Full note reads:

please stop using your vibrator on the ceiling, we are just walking normally! If you dont stop we will report you! You’re the ones who chose to live on the 2nd floor not my issue!

-your upstairs neighbor

I’ve heard of people getting mad over someone walking too loudly, i dont think I’ve ever seen the counter tactic of sticking your vibrator onto the ceiling though…

You’re the ones who chose to live on the 2nd floor

How is this a line a renter uses on another. They should be well aware thr “choice” is between a small selection of livable places within uour budget or you end up homeless. No point pretending people are spending months picking the optimal acoustics of the place.

im in student living so i dont even think you actually get to pick where you live, you either find an apartment that has an open spot for the next year or the office managers randomly pick one for you and the roommates you’ve matched with on their dogshit app lol. also to be clear I almost never hear the people living above or below me so if the people across from me are going to war I have to imagine they actually are being loud upstairs

I fucking hate that. The general public is trained to blame each other for systemic problems. Live in the ground floor because it’s more convenient to get in and out of your apartment? Well, you’re just asking to be robbed through the window. That was your fault. Everyone knows the second floor is the best floor! Oh, you live on the second floor? You’re the one that chose to be surrounded by people on all four sides. Should have lived on the ground floor, moron!

my partner came into the bedroom late one night to find me on two stacked chairs hitting the ceiling with a broom in our bronx apt. She thought i was sleep walking and when i went back to bed and laid down she went back to the living room to continue working.

She asked me about it the next day and laughed her head off when I told her our upstairs neighbor left her vibrator on and it must have fallen to the floor. It was buzzing for a good 5 minutes across their floor before I got irritated enough to try to hit the ceiling.

To be honest if you are able to hear a vibrator pressed to the ceiling at a noise level that it brothers you, the ceiling is pretty thin.

As always, the source of a problem was a cheap capitalist! But excuse me for repeating myself.

Plot twist: the vibrator’s not on the ceiling. The downstairs neighbor just REALLY likes the sound of feet walking.

I agree that you should not use this vibrator, because if this is what it did to your neighbours’ ears you won’t like what it will do to your ass
