    Plagiarism is not pirating. Before copyright existed I doubt it would be socially acceptable to just steal people’s ideas as your own.

    When I showed a pirated copy of Star Wars to my partner, I didn’t claim I made the movie.

      Actually the concept changed a lot over time. A few centuries ago it was perfectly acceptable to take someone’s story and characters and retell it in your own way, but copying someone’s style was frowned upon.
