Since the start of current intensification of genocide on Palestinians, the amount of UAposting dropped sharply. Like SHARPLY, not even normally as in bored libs changing topics. At the same time, especially at reddit, but at lemmy too, there is sudden flood of zionist posts even on pro-Palestinian subs.

That might be because we defederated from worldnews (because they disliked the pro-palestinian stance we have here).

As for the flood of zionist posts, that’s astroturfing, propaganda and censorship. Accounts are getting blocked and kicked on reddit for stating anything pro-palestine on subs like worldnews and many of these pro-isreal accounts were made recently. I believe someone else posted also how Israel literally has a site to get people to boost pro israel content.

To be super clear, those cowards ran away from us. We were happy to keep educating those ghouls even if it was often more like bashing rock against rock… (not all of them btw, but a disproportionate amount were ghouls)

Israel and Zionism are subjects of an incredible amount of propaganda in the west, and particularly in the US. I would assume that Israel is one of the only countries outside the US that most Americans would know anything about or have an opinion on, purely because of how much money and effort is put into reinforcing the narrative. It’s not at all surprising to me that the moment something significant happened there, everyone would drop everything and start talking about it.

Yes, the cycle is over. Ukraine is done now. Andy dropping Sheriff Woody meme. It just needed something to push it off the stage. Now there’s a new buffet of opinions to rent for libs, whatever gives the most smug feelings.

Yep. Like I said, it’s state propaganda by means of karma farma’s chasing the latest trend.

It’s simple. Pro-Israeli and pro-ukraine posts are upvoted by bots. People pick up on that and post pro-Israeli and pro-ukraine content. As a result, by changing what gets upvoted, you can change what people see.

I think it’s just a symptom of media focus (which is appropriate, although their bias is disgusting) and a slowly petering out focus on Ukraine for the last year-ish. People had already grown bored of Ukraine and were finally openly saying “no more funding for Ukraine.” Plus Israel is like basically attached to the US like docked penises. Ukraine was just a proxy to manipulate against the Russian state by dangling money and false promises of joining NATO. The US state dept would probably actually literally do a full war if some country like Iran tried to destroy it. Ukraine, well, we aren’t at war with Russia (directly), so there you have that. Fake friends and such. I’m sure once Israel gets their genocide over with and the world goes back to generally forgetting Palestinians are dying the news will find something to talk about in Ukraine. Give it a couple weeks.
