There aren’t really many, imo. The only channels I can tolerate are ones that focus on very specific topics, and have no reason to ever talk about the politics of the modern age. It seems like the only way a history channel can get big when it talks about modern politics these days, is if they have the worst liberal hot takes and only use CIA sources. The top handful of channels for this genre of history all feel like they skim Wikipedia as their research for their scripts.

I really enjoy Invicta, though. His voice is very soothing, and he pretty much only talks about the Roman Empire and subjects similar or somehow connected.

sadly only know Russian ones. My favourites are Плохой Сигнал and Клим Жуков and Дмитрий Пучков aka Goblin where there is no particular focus on history but a lot of historical videos and many historian guests like affromentioned Zhukov. And all of that from marxist perspective, all of them have different opinions and stuff. (for example Zhukov doesent really like the perspectives of Special Military Operation, while Puchkov was saying it was inevitable from 2014 year lol) Many consider Puchkov to be a little cringe i certanly can see why but overall good channel ranging from video games and tabletop games reviews to News, Book and movies reviews and literally everything. They have great cycle of videos about chronology of Russian Revolution, and huge deconstruction of Solzh books. But by far Plokhoi Signal is the best one. Although he has sporadic upload graphic you cant find better communist analysis of some small and not interesting things at first, that uncover a lot of really interesting stuff
