        but the garden analogy still implies that there’s some sort of “better potential” to be gotten out of this specific breed of plant (in this case human) that makes it worth protecting and fertilizing and giving it 20x the resources (the reason why corn tastes good but the seeds from wild grass don’t), when all human historical evidence says not really

          Say it loud and clear for the colonists and imperialists in Brussels and the national capitals.

          Or we flip it on its head and say that the “better potential” the EU sees for non-Europeans is to put them to work for virtually nothing extracting raw materials and producing simple products to keep money flowing into the EU.
