I personally love tiktok, it’s great on a my morning train commute where I have to switch trains, it’s fun, I get a mix of shitposting, leftist politics and cute animals, it hasn’t ruined my attention span or anything like. I still prefer long form entertainment like video essays and documentaries, but I tend to enjoy a wide variety of content styles and mediums so maybe I’m just a weird person 😅 I think it’s amusing how many people shit on it, mostly I think because it’s cool to shit on the popular thing, I understand that a lot of popularity is astroturfed, but I tend to have a an odd appreciation for popular culture, so again I think I’m might be weird, especially in a counterculture oriented community like this, but maybe I’m wrong? Also I sound like an anti-hipster and I promise I’m not just trying to be unique lol.
