Cuban officials have held talks with the United States government to seek solutions to the crippling blockade imposed by Washington, President Miguel Diaz-Canel said, as the Trump administration’s threats to take over the Caribbean nation escalate.
“These talks have been aimed at finding solutions through dialogue to the bilateral differences we have between the two nations,” Diaz-Canel said in a video aired on national television on Friday.
Diaz-Canel said “international factors have facilitated these exchanges”.
He said no petroleum shipments have arrived on the island in the past three months, which he blamed on the US energy blockade.
Let’s hope it isn’t Iranian-type negotiations; hold meetings while the US prepares to bomb hell out of Cuba anyways.
If socialism falls in Cuba idk what I’m gonna do. I honestly don’t think I could bear it
If I am being honest I dont think socialism will fall in cuba. What I am woried about is the US using this as some sort of ploy, or not relenting. I should have made it clearer in my earlier comment, I have full faith and confidence in Cuba, just none with the United States
I don’t know. I mean, i have faith in the Cuban people, i just…think about how I probably would have said the same thing about the soviet union or the GDR.
I’ll try to keep my spirits up if i can though
Dont count chickens for the Empire, especially before they are laid. There are reasons to be worried but Cuba has existed procarously as an AES state 90 miles away from the US. I see no reason to expect that the revolution is going to fade from Cuba.
Im not sure I like the sound of this if I am being honest The us has been consistent what they want is capitalism back on Cuba, I dont think the US is willing to budge on that one
I hope our Cuban comrades can get a similiar arrangement as Venezuela. If Cuba must take a strategic retreat for the sake of preserving the revolution, then so be it, but we can only hope that the revolution continues.
I guess they did do a similar thing under Obama, I am just worried that the US is too blood thirsty this time
Frankly I don’t know what Cuba could do. Unfortunately their condition falls at the whims of theor much more powerful and tyrannical neighbor 90 miles away.
I cannot disagree with you, especially as the US has resorted to Piracy to keep goods from entering. I am just worried
Do what needs to be done so the socialist project of Cuba survives and let the virtual signaling keyboard “anti-imperialists” be satisfied by their naval gazing.
