Roma people, Afro-Germans, LGBTQ+, trade Union members, socialists didn’t exist I guess.

    • Nobody is doing as good a job of popularizing antisemitism as the turbo zionist orgs.

Prior to the 2023 escalation of the genocide in Gaza, anti-semitism was pretty fringe, even amongst right wingers. Now, those same right wingers, having witnessed any semblance of opposition to the Israeli project or solidarity with Palestinians get scrubbed from the internet, believe that Jews do in fact control the media and run the world.

The same dorks that spent years crying about “cancel culture” over even bigger losers getting fired cannot muster up the same assessment of the situation because that would entail siding with the same leftists they’ve spent their whole lives fostering a hate boner for.

The amount of casual antisemitism I hear now is astronomical and would have been unthinkable a few years ago. This is thanks to the extremely overzealous Zionist orgs wielding their power over even the smallest detraction from their genocidal project. Shit like this post.

Makes sense, since the Zionist community is erasing the genocide they’re doing against the Palestinians, that they would erase other genocides too

There is something to say about “attempting to draw in contemporary conflicts, is an abuse of the memory of the Holocaust and an insult to victims and survivors.” I’m not talking to comparisons with what’s happening in Gaza. I’m talking about liberals claiming a genocide was occurring in Xinjiang.

Of course the Holocaust Educational Trust has no interest in addressing the class conflict which was the root cause of the holocaust, but whether they want to say it or not, the reason this genocide happened was because it protected and expanded the power of capital. Rhetoric around a fake genocide in Xinjiang uses the memory of the holocaust towards the same end, to protect capital. To me, that’s a tremendous insult to the victims of the holocaust.

The people wielding this rhetoric are so unserious about the memory of the holocaust and it’s physical reality, which left Europe littered with its artifacts and even in the 1930s and 40s was well documented with photos and movies, they’ll shamelessly tell you a 21st century holocaust happened in Xinjiang that left literally no physical evidence.

I’m going to ask this here because its how i remember learning it, but jews were half of the 11-12 million people considered to have been killed by the holocaust, which we also mean more than just the death camps but also things like general plan ost right? Every day i feel like im being gaslit about the historicity of the holocaust by the right and center and its fucking infuriating

I can’t remember if you’re one of the people I complained to before, but it is a real thing to use “the Holocaust” just to refer to Jews killed and not to other groups (and I’d put the total number of victims of Nazi genocide somewhat higher than that regardless). Apparently some places use the meaning you give there, but it’s not something that I’ve seen outside of the sort of colloquial discourse where the precise meaning of any word is a crapshoot.

I might be, that sounds familiar. Personally I hate that we say hitler did the holocaust and ww2 and it seems we let the other 5-6 million people who died in some of the worst ways imaginable off to the side like some rounding error.

Jews were around 6 million people killed in the Holocaust, whose total number has (in recent years) been concluded to be 17 million. Previous estimates that gave the 11~12 million number weren’t accurate because NATO and Soviet sources couldn’t be corroborated. After the Berlin Wall came down, historians were able to get much better data, including GPO and Operation Barbarossa.

The number was only updated by various Holocaust organizations in the last decade, so if you graduated high school/college prior to 2010ish, you were still getting the 11 to 12 million number.

First they came for the Commune Jews

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Commune Jew

Then they came for the Social Jews

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Social Jew

Then they came for the Trade Jews

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Trade Jew

Then they came for the Jews

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Jew

    Then they came for me

And there was no one left

    To speak out for me

    Genocide is a cheese sandwich

The only reason anyone gives a shit about the Holocaust is because A) it happened to white people and B) it is politically expedient for Germany to self-flagellate (see how sorry they are!)
