In light of recent events I felt that this should have a little more awareness. This commercial has been airing on Telemundo and Univision constantly for nearly a year in the US. These are the most popular Hispanic TV stations in the country and everything they broadcast is exclusively in Spanish. Except for this commercial. The version that’s currently live on air has Spanish subtitles but it’s otherwise identical to this one.
The announcement consists of Kristi Noem praising Trump, threatening to deport you, and saying that immigrants are criminals and drug traffickers. It’s part of the Department of Homeland Security’s mass deportation campaign targeting latinos and they produced an international version too. In that video, Noem instead threatens you against coming to the US because if you do, she will hunt you down (I’m not editorializing, she literally says she’ll hunt you down). I’m not sure which countries are broadcasting this and where but at least Sheinbaum banned it in Mexico.
May Latin America and Latin Americans gather their courage and stand up. Death to the USA.
In bad country, aging instragram models will threaten to hunt you down on television for having the wrong skin color.I’ve sadly been seeing it on YouTube a few times.
You don’t use an ad blocker? uBlock Origin is a good browser extension
only works on firefox now
the amount of money they spend on airing this must be astronomical because it plays several times a day every day for over a year. and that’s usually just one channel we watch
Yeah seriously, this ad campaign is lasting for an eternity. It wouldn’t surprise me if broadcasters were forced to play it.
