Shregma male tip #90210: I’m a misogynist who is really concerned about keeping up my hegemonic masculine image. So every time I talk about the serious threat of climate change and how it’s likely to affect me personally, I make actionable threats against the CEOs of several oil, gas, and automotive businesses.

What a winning formula! Women tend to take positions to the left of men, so just tie all those positions to femininity and exploit good-ol misogyny to keep men from considering them. Then use that same mispgyny to keep men in power.

This is why they hate gender nonconformity. The moment dudes feel comfortable breaking lockstep on masculinity, the door is open to liberalism or even radicalism.

    Gender is a psyop

This is the most obvious thing I’ve ever read. Men drive the biggest trucks. They’ve got nothing in their garages and never haul anything with their trucks. This is masculinity. Caring about the environment is obviously not compatible.

everything in this world must be divided into two camps. manly, and gay.

women, climate, bicycles, all gay. beating someone to death is super manly. beating the entire planet to death is even manlier.

This suggests that the pressure to adhere to gender norms specifically discourages men from engaging with environmental issues

colonizer conditioning aka cishetero binary, does indeed require a disconnection from the land and the role of a steward, while also emphasizing the need to be a lord of the land (at least to aspire to be one, or work under one while respecting the title in case you become one)

Describing climate action in terms of protection, courage, or duty might make the issue more palatable to men with high masculinity concerns

yes, framed under the problem of capital so that the strong cisman landlord can rescue his property

The current data indicates that for many men, the desire to be seen as a “real man” conflicts with the desire to save the planet.

The sample size was described as 400 people or so three times, once in America once in Europe and then again in America. It would be much more interesting to me if you could target specific demographics to see how they felt from across the world. And if this feeling was correlated with the desire to conform to bourgeoisie ideals.

Yes, I do think it is very telling in the sense that to aspiring to be “proper cis man” and to blend in with “white” society, this is what you must do.

material conditions can break these chains. my office is next to a warehouse where the service technicians are required to wear thick, layered pants due to safety protocols. in the summer months, they routinely take their smoke breaks at the one floor vent with an updraft. swamp ass is an ally.

Also I feel the need to clarify, for some reason I’ve been getting a lot of questions recently that should have been answered by my “It’s not gay to love big dicks” shirt, it is NOT gay to love big dicks.
