I can remember seeing photos from the liberations of death camps, never got to hear about the soviets doing it of course…but regardless of who, those photos or very old video reels were more than enough for me, from a pretty early age I felt anyone who would have any part at all in anything like that should be stopped at once, their mechanisms put to an immediate end and their views destroyed. I can’t understand how people who literally saw it with their own eyes could be anything but absolutely radicalized against fascism in even it’s smallest signs. Instead we got McCarthyism. They had to tell people Stalin was a Hitler or they’d notice how Hitler their own country is.
