Some time ago, I asked if Houthis really had “death to Jews” in their slogan, as I didn’t want to trust wikipedia. Instead I got a sermon on why I shouldn’t support zionists.
So no, I don’t think I will explain myself. Whatever I say will just get interpreted as “both siding genocide”, outright “defending genocide”, “siding with zionists” and/or “islamophobia”. Instead I will take my leave.
Their flag doesn’t say “death to the Jews”, it says “Lanet ala Al-Yahud” which is translated to “Accursed be the Jews”, in Islam wishing “Lanet” upon another group means “Praying upon them to lose their mercy from Allah” , yeah it’s anti-semitic, no it’s not calling for violent action against Jewish people or Judaism, so it’s meaningless in the real world and it’s meaningless also in Islam because Jews are not Muslims so praying that doesn’t make sense. The flag also has “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” so having a different word for Jews is intentional.
