It’s an excerpt from the book ‘evil geniuses,’ which is basically social democrat theory idealizing the period post FDR and up til the 80s. The book’s not without historical value, but I wish he (Kurt Anderson) understood more about the realities of capitalism and the inherent dictatorship of the bourgeoisie that didn’t come out of nowhere in the last half century. I also wish he understood the Soviets, not to make stupid points like this, and to understand that it was only good here because the proletariat ruled there.
