It used to be that when I went to the login page, I could enter everything normally without a worry. Now when I try to log in, I get an error message saying ‘Couldn’t find that username or email.’
I can still log back in when I select the ‘forgot password’ option and ‘reset’ my password, but it’s really annoying to do this every time that I want to log in. Please stop this.
It is nineteen characters long.
Hmm🤔 not sure what the problem is? Maybe your password has a strange character in it. What’s your password?? /s lol
Only the basic Latin alphabet and its Indo‐Arabic numerals. Nothing else.
odd bc mine works fine, pretty similar. My only guess would be if you made the password a long time ago but even then idk about that, I haven’t changed mine before and I’ve been here a lil bit over a year
Not sure then. Maybe an issue with copy pasting or however you input your password. I say this because I never face this issue with a twenty character password and logging in with rofi-pass on Linux and Password Store on Android. I could be wrong though.
For whatever it is worth, this started after I got an email last Friday saying ‘Please click the link below to verify your email address for the account @AnarchoBolshevik@lemmygrad.ml. Ignore this email if the account isn’t yours.’ I clicked the link.
Oddly enough, I got that email after I added a banner to my profile, but that might be a mere coincidence.
P.S. I always manually type in my Lemmygrad password.
Fwiw just verify that it’s not a phishing attempt. Meaning that “the link below to verify” is actually from the lemmygrad.ml domain and the link it points to is also a lemmygrad.ml domain. Also consider using a password manager. You can use a free one like bitwarden. It is not open source but the free plan allows syncing passwords between multiple devices and it is regularly audited by credible third parties.
I figured out what the problem is. I log in by entering my email address, only now the system is case‐sensitive, and my habit is capitalizing the first letter in my email address. That is why I couldn’t log in normally.
Capitalizing my address in my settings and then clicking ‘Save’ has no effect; it stays lowercase.
