I once read a Maoist article about the Soviet-Chinese conflicts. I remember the lack of analysis, the blaming of USSR for the beginning of the conflicts, as well as the whitewashing of the Chinese side. After that, I also read about the Afghan war from the same Maoists. And the same situation - the USSR is an aggressor, killed millions, established a stillborn regime, the Mujahideen were better in power. Also constant attempts to manipulate emotions.

    Maosts are idealists

my country’s resident maoist party (that ironically calls them marxist-leninist) openly supports terrorists like ISIS only bcs they go against the US, without counting that the US created them…

Maoists are just 21st century kautskysts and kautskysts are just the 20st century version of people marx argued against at his time

ISIS also do not go against US, they not only created them, they also steer them, if you look at history of their conflicts they somehow manage to attack all of the countries which USA is hostile to and avoid all the US allies. One would think anyone being in the nominally communist political party could do at least basic historical materialist analysis, but they apparently are on the level below even simple “qui bono” question.
