A lot of these are disgusting examples of cultural genocide, but the only one that doesn’t really make sense is Jerusalem. That’s not a Hebrew name or even really related to Isreal. It’s the historic name of the city from the time of the Cannonites, a thousand years before Christianity, Judaism, and Islam ever existed.

Changing the name from Jerusalem to Al-Quds feels weird, given the context that the map highlights the Israeli practice of historical and cultural erasure. Especially since they had nothing to do with the name Jerusalem.

The name literally translates to “foundation (yry or modern Jeru) of the pagan god Shalem”.

You’re not wrong, although Al-Quds is simply just the name used by the native Palestinians when referring to the city. If anything I think Tel-Aviv being marked as Jaffa is less accurate, since I’m pretty sure Jaffa existed before Tel Aviv and still does in some way, and most of Tel-Aviv was built as a new city adjacent to Jaffa, not directly replacing it.
