Why should we? So many other countries that had been much more worthy of being defended like Palestine and we remained neutral. Why should we move on account of people who brought it to themselves? They wanted to join NATO despite the obvious problems it’d bring (and Russia’s warnings). They played a stupid game and won a stupid prize.
