To be fair, we all knew what “abstain” had always meant. Their opinions never changed, they’re just not hiding it anymore.
Im more worried about all the new abstentions, what exactly does that mean, you dont go from “Nazis are bad” to “I am not sure about these nazi guys”
Treat abstain as “I like Nazis but don’t want to admit it”

Probably fear of reprecussions from the big bad bully.
