Maybe the word “genocide” is a problem in of itself because it destroys the nuance that makes various forms of bad things look like the same thing. Refugees being turned back to their homeland is not on the scale of awful that a campaign of rape an murder of civilians is. Still not great though. I’d rather people just be able to live their lives wherever they want as long as they aren’t colonizing anybody.
