I still run windows cause my PC has problems running Linux. Something always fails. Like last time the mouse failed. Also curious, gaming wise, how does linux fare? Maybe using a VM could work but idk. (kind of turned this into a question un unrelated to the desktop lol, just curious.)

Linux people swear Windows games through Wine/Proton work “like native”, but I don’t believe them and don’t really care to test. I play games on Windows and keep it separate.

Linux is definitely cool but that’s always been a hang up for me as well. I watched a good documentary on Linux, and it was made with some pretty awesome fucking ideas, yet it still needs to tuning, and it needs some popularity so devs can make ports for it. One day under socialism windows will be nationalized lets hope.

Windows offers no benefit over Linux. Every single thing I can think of is worse with Windows, with the exception being the things that don’t exist for Linux at all. (Like hit 2001 platformer Sonic Adventure 2).

I agree that Linux needs more popularity if we hope to attract more oppressive apps, but not that tuning is required. Of course if there are mice with problems those should be fixed by the mouse manufacturer or someone responsible for the part of the stack that is faulty. I’m also not convinced that Linux needs a huge library of oppressive apps.
