One message in an internal company discussion, set up by a manager in the days after the Hamas attack in southern Israel, encouraged employees to “show Westernity” in social media posts backing Israel, as “unlike the Gazans, we look and live like Europeans or Americans”, it said.

The Israeli tantrum comes down to this sentiment in the end. We look and live like other white people - we deserve to bomb and kill without public outcry like white people. They’re right in a sense. There was no widespread condemnation when America leveled Afghanistan, Iraq or Libya.

Israel is forgetting that it is not America on the world stage. Getting condemnation for genocide is normal state of affairs and Israel proves to be no exception so far unlike America, Britain, or France.

That’s not even true, which only makes it worse. 45% of the Israeli Jews are Mizrahi (of Middle Eastern/African origin) and 32% are the originally European Ashkenazi. Half of the Jewish population looks the same as Arabs. That’s why the West Bank has to have different colored license plates, different forms of IDs and permits that are checked at the checkpoints on every step. Because otherwise the occupying military literally wouldn’t be able to distinguish who to protect and who to oppress.

I thought the Ashkenazi were a much bigger percentage than that. TIL.

I wouldn’t have guessed it from the photos and rhetoric coming out of Israel. Still, the quote about looking European is coming from an Israeli coordinating to spread propaganda from Wix according to the source.
