At noon on August 4, the PLA began live-fire drills in six areas around China’s Taiwan region. The PLA Eastern Theater Command conducted long-range live-fire training in the Taiwan Strait in the next hour. Later The PLA Eastern Theater Command Rocket Force launched conventional missiles into designated maritime regions east of Taiwan island. All missiles accurately struck their targets. Also, the PLA Eastern Theater Command deployed more than 100 warplanes of various types to the northern, southwestern, and southeastern airspace near the Taiwan island. More than 10 PLA warships implemented a joint blockade in the maritime regions around Taiwan.
It’s to show them who’s in the area now and not to mess with them in case. (Since japan is now one of the puppets of USA to respond in case of something happens in Taiwan)
it’ll encourage japan to amend its constitution and change its self-defense force into a normal military, among other changes.
