They make second class citizens in Ukraine: people who speak Russian are not as Ukrainians who speak Ukrainian. You can see the result of this politic on Lysychansk, where Russian army is received as their salvation army.
A more stable, long term politic would be to integrate the national diversity in Ukraine like Switzerland, Canada or Spain do, with region decentralization, respect for all the languages/cultures, etc.
The one thing they needed to do to avoid most troubles is to do nothing even after 2014 coup. But no, they just immediately had to try to crush russian minority (and russian speaking Ukrainians) culturally, politically, economically and soon even militarily. Fucking nazis just can’t stop.
