    I mean, they could just pay the workers what they’re asking and take it out the dividends pot. Can European leaders afford to encourage the Australians to wait out the striking workers or will they demand that an agreement be reached soon? (Just kidding, the European ghouls will probably volunteer to send strike-breakers long before they ask for the workers’ demands to be met.) On a brighter note, this is the kind of event where international solidarity would come in handy. Hopefully the European unions act in solidarity and get something out of it themselves, too. We’ll see.

      Definitely an opportunity there for workers to start realizing that they have common interests with workers in other countries.
