Anyone here plays Enlisted?

They’re releasing a Stalingrad campaign soon!

In Enlisted, a campaign is a series of maps each with their own objectives, squads from each side with specific weaponry, etc. with more or less accuracy to the real-life battles.

I prefer much more playing this one than Battlefield, for example.

It has some realistic mechanics similar to Red Orchestra 2, but the game is overall much better than RO2.

I made a post about this game a while ago, I’m a really big fan of it. It does a lot of things right that I really didn’t expect them to, after playing warthunder for years.

They’ve still got a premiums monetary system, which gates players out of content and forces players to pay real money to get the same things in different campaigns. But, the Stalingrad campaign is experimenting with a different payment method, so hopefully that one’s a bit better.

It’s really not just “warthunder but infantry”, though it has a lot of resemblances, it’s its own game with its own vibe, I highly recommend it to people who like WWII shooters. It’s made by many of the Gaijin devs who worked on warthunder when it was still in beta, so of course certain mechanics and assets are being reused.

The progression is a lot more fun than warthunder (and less of a bullshit, mindnumbing grind), most matches are somewhat evenly made and there aren’t really any cheesy tactics a player can use to get an unfair advantage (unlike warthunder, where certain tanks in BR ranges are OP and players will completely ignore tanking tactics and caution to get easy kills). As long as your team plays the objective, you will do well on the majority of maps, even if you don’t win you’ll still get a decent amount of XP.

A lot of the problems I’ve found with the game are the result of it being in beta, and the devs not having a fully clear idea as to what they want the full release to be like. But, the bright side of that is each campaign they release experiments with new mechanics and tries to fix elements of the previous builds. I’m holding out hope that the full release will consolidate all of the similar campaigns into one, and fix some of the more glaring issues (like the premium system). The devs seem to actually listen to the player base (rare in shooters, unheard of with warthunder) so this one really gives me an inkling of hope for the future of FTP gaming.

I’m considering putting together a discord server for communist enlisted players, might go ahead and do that soon
