I’ve never heard that quote but reminiscent in its succinct nature of the way zizek flips the quote from Marx in capital to describe ideology: They do not know it, but they do it I think this is so true in the case of the Ughir propaganda which I first accepted at face value until I did more research, it’s not easy to do! I can’t claim some kind of intellectual high ground here, but sometimes memes really do capture that kernel of truth embedded in a 5000 word essay.
