  • I started painting minis. I’ve always loved painting but honestly I get frustrated with drawing. Minis provide a good amount of structure and challenge while allowing me to have some creative freedom. Bonus that I end up with cool tokens for my DND games :)

I’ve had a pair of solovairs for 2 years and I feel you made the right choice. I wear mine decently often – few times a month in warmer months and multiple times a week in colder months – and they’ve held up really well, just a few creases on the toe. All I’ve been doing for them as far as care goes is washing off salt from the road occasionally and I did 1 leather treatment about a year ago.

For comparison my friend bought a pair of docs around the same time as me. She seems to wear them a bit more often, but they are totally beat to shit after 2 years.

  • I do wonder if this could turn into a bigger problem for Reddit. I’m super new to Lemmy - I always liked how Reddit works from a ui/functionality perspective but I didn’t like how the site was run or honestly even the people on the site. But I heard about Lemmy because of this and I think I like Lemmy better.

It just reminds me of what happened with Digg. Lots of small problems then a short series of bigger management fumbles made Digg go from the biggest link aggregator on the net to some obscure site nobody’s heard of in like 5 years. I think it’s a little harder for big sites like Reddit to fail nowadays but regardless - platforms like Lemmy show that Reddit doesn’t really have anything special going for it besides a larger userbase.
