    Your issue isn’t with STEM. It’s profit incentive. Most decisions in science are business decisions. Everything we do is billable hours or sales driven. Even in academia, you could be a hardcore physicist… but your success still depends on winning grants. Sales.

    There’s no profit in a class struggle.

    Also, its my understanding that you can’t choose not to participate in a strike, if your union voted to. If you want your strike stipend, you have to put in picket hours.

    Translation is that he designs heatpumps, so he does up the specs and drawings, writes a report based on fancy calculations which he pulls from other reports- but changes them ever so slightly, to fit with his company’s product/service, and then he puts his little engineering stamp on it at the end.
